Henry Yau
Managing Director
Henry Yau is an experienced corporate financier with over 30 years of investment banking, capital markets, financial advisory and professional accounting experience in Europe and in the Asia Pacific region, and more than 30 years’ professional management experience in leading professional teams to originate, structure and execute capital markets, mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance transactions in a diverse range of industries around the globe

Henry is presently the Managing Director of Quam Capital. Before joining Quam Capital, Henry was the Managing Director and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory and Financing of Zhongtai International (the sole international investment banking arm of Zhongtai Securities (600918.CH)), with overall responsibility for Zhongtai International’s global mergers & acquisitions advisory and financing business. Prior to that, Henry was Managing Director and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions of CMBC Capital (the sole investment banking arm of China Minsheng Bank (600016.CH; 1988.HK)), Head of Corporate Finance, Asia at Korea Development Bank Asia, an Equity Partner and Head of Corporate Finance Advisory, Hong Kong, at Deloitte China, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, North East Asia, at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group and Managing Director and Head of Corporate Advisory at Daiwa Capital Markets. Henry has also held senior investment banking positions at J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank during his professional career

Henry has advised on numerous pre-IPO private placement, capital markets financing and M&A transactions in the Asia Pacific region with an aggregate value of over US$60 billion, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China’s US$21.9 billion IPO, China Construction Bank’s US$11.2 billion IPO, Link REIT’s US$28 billion IPO, SABMiller’s US$780 million takeover bid for Harbin Brewery and the subsequent sale of SABMiller's 29% interest in the company to Anheuser-Busch for US$220 million (the first contested public takeover bid in China) and J.P. Morgan Chase’s disposal of Jardine Fleming Bank to Standard Bank

Henry graduated with a Bachelor‘s Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and holds a Master’s Degree (with Top Distinction) in International Banking and Financial Studies from the University of Southampton

Henry is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellow member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute and a member of ICAEW's Corporate Finance Faculty and an ICAEW Business & Finance Professional. He also holds an unrestricted Responsible Officer license for Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 6 (Advising on Corporate Finance) Regulated Activities defined under Schedule 5 of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Ordinance

Henry presently serves on the China Committee of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute. He also served on the Corporate Finance Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants between 2008 and 2009 and between 2010 and 2011
